Thank you for this. I remember when I met Jane and Bernie at Granny Lee's house on Dee Flat at the end of Imai road. Mike Oates and I took a class together at the "New" High School my senior year, and, he introduced me to my first husband. I only knew him originally because he was your friend. Funny how the trails wind around. I get together every little bit with a group of women from Hood River that includes Tara Asai. I appreciate your writing. And Happy Birthday and a joyful Thanksgiving, however you spend it.

Yes! Carl's dad was one of the brothers who joined the Army during WWII, and came home to farm. They were and are a remarkable family.
